...When aspiring journalist Rosalie Ames' friends are taken hostage by HYDRA and she's forced into witness protection with the Avengers, Rosalie must grapple with her own inadequacies and insecurities in order to get them back--but the fight isn't as easy as superhero movies make it out to be, and it feels like the only person she can rely on is a former brainwashed super-soldier who seems to linger nearby her. Can she save her friends from HYDRA before they, too, are brainwashed like Bucky was?--Bucky Barnes x OC fic. Not canon compliant, takes place shortly after CA:CW. No Thanos and everyone lives in the compound together.As a warning, will be pretty OC-centric as this story is for me and my friends.Bucky is around 30-33 in mental/physical age since he was 28 when he fell off the train.Inspired HEAVILY in Ch. 1-4 by "Winter Mountain Soldier Spy" by Cosmos_coma and "Kosa" by ashwritesometimes.As a warning, all characters will probably be pretty OOC in this as I haven't written fanfic in a while. Rosalie Ames is a simple and quite average young woman. With dreams of going into aviation journalism, she's dedicated her time and passions into honing her craft and works hard to get picked up by a newspaper. She has two cats--Sharkie and Rascal--and pours all of her love and energy into them and their wellbeing.A physically weak person, Rosalie often struggles on her own. Having grown up quite well-off and in a nice area, she still relies somewhat on her wealthy father to make ends meet. This doesn't mean she isn't trying, though. With a Bachelors in communications, she hopes to move from a barista job to a better paying office job soon enough.Suffering from systemic lupus, high stress often causes her to have flare-ups and makes moving around a pain. As such, she tries her best to live life in a way that is calm and happy. She lives with her best friends in a house that her father owns and they rent.She hopes to save her friends from the clutches of HYDRA.

Lilith Matthews is a spunky and confident young woman. While she isn't overly fond of living in central Jersey and detests rural areas, she's grateful to have her own house and live with her friends.Lilith currently works in retail still, but works on the side as a cybersecurity engineer, and is slowly building herself up in the world of technology.Currently, Lilith's whereabouts are unknown.

Quinn McCleary is a softspoken and gentle individual. Considered a pushover, they've lived their life being the target of bullying and mockery from both strangers and family alike. Nothing in their life has been stable until meeting Quint in high school, who quickly brought them into his friend group with Rosalie. (Ironically enough, Rosalie knew Quinn, and hated them at the time for their persistent habit of shaking their leg on her side of the lunch table.)Quinn has dreams of being a professional animator, and has quite the extensive art portfolio to back it up. Since moving in with the group, Quinn has been able to focus more closely on their aspirations rather than simply getting by.Currently, Quinn's whereabouts are unknown.
